Christopher Zhang
Christopher Zhang believes that visual art should be predicated on
realism in order to enhance the reality of the subject.
The artist was born in Shanghai, the city once renowned as the
"Oriental Paris". As a child gifted with remarkable talents for
sketching and color appreciation, he decided early to become an
outstanding artist. In 1990, he traveled to the United
States to pursue and earn his MFA degree from Rhode Island
College.
He is a Copley Master and member of the Copley Society of
Boston, MA, artist member of The Connecticut Fine Arts Academy,
and a past Director and Board Member of the Mystic Arts Center.
His work is part of the permanent collection of the Lyman Allyn
Museum of Art, New London, CT and the Sun City Art Museum,
Phoenix, AZ.
Christopher's work may be seen at the Courtyard Gallery in
Mystic, Connecticut.
"Russian Masters taught me how to color the soul of man while
American and Western European Masters taught me how to ennoble
the figure of man."
